It's hard to find a single word to describe 2020. But if I have to choose one it is "special". Special because we all have to deal with the measures surrounding COVID-19, both for business and privately, and special because we have delivered a top performance despite these measures. Not least because of the commitment of our customers and the enthusiasm of the entire Van der Valk team.
In 2020 our customers laid the foundation for various product launches. For example, the completely new product line ValkCableCare has been further expanded and innovative products such as ValkSolarFix and the corrugated iron bracket have been introduced. And all our systems have been adapted to be able to mount the largest panel sizes.
In the field of CSR we are well on the way to obtaining the ISO14001 certificate. The increase in PV is of course fantastic, but we operate with the smallest possible impact on the environment. For example, we limit transport movements through our own production and we ship our materials in the most compact way possible. Last year we were able to welcome several great new colleagues. Locations have been opened in Sweden and Spain to provide our customers in the Nordics and Ibérica with faster and better advice and materials. To top it all off, an extra location has been opened in Den Hoorn (NL) where all office staff and the complete logistics of Van der Valk Solar Systems have moved to as of 1-1-2021. The current location in Monster (NL) had become too small and gives our production and sister company Van der Valk Horti Systems the space to grow further.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone on behalf of the entire team for their confidence in Van der Valk Solar Systems. We miss direct customer contact, but we are convinced that we will catch up with you in 2021. Good luck!
